Fans of the annual Santa Fe Indian Market can enjoy a pared-down, indoor version at the Winter Indian Market hosted by the Southwestern Association for Indian Arts (SWAIA). This more intimate version of SWAIA’s enormously popular summer market is a great way to kick off your holiday shopping and visit with juried Native artists in an indoor setting.
The Winter Indian Market takes place for the twentieth year on November 29 and 30, 2025. The market, held at the Santa Fe Community Convention Center, features approximately 160 exceptional Native artists creating one-of-a-kind art in SWAIA’s 10 juried classifications.
The Winter Indian Market is the largest Native holiday art market in New Mexico. Shoppers can explore handcrafted jewelry, pottery, textiles, baskets, Pueblo wooden carvings, sculpture, two-dimensional art such as paintings, photography, and digital art, and much more. It’s the perfect opportunity to buy something special for yourself or as a holiday gift.
Event Details
The market is open Saturday, November 29, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday, November 30, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tickets are $15 per day or $25 for both and can be purchased online or in person at the market.
Also, at Winter Indian Market, enjoy live music and dance performances, bid on unique items in the in-person silent auction, and savor delicious food, all while supporting both SWAIA and Native artists.
“Winter Market is more than a marketplace — it’s a celebration of Native art and a chance to give back to the community that sustains us,” said Jamie Schulze, SWAIA’s executive director.
Support SWAIA’s Mission
This year’s market also includes an in-person and online silent auction, offering collector art pieces while supporting SWAIA’s year-round programs. SWAIA’s mission is “To bring Native arts to the world by inspiring artistic excellence, fostering education, and creating meaningful partnerships.” Your winning bid will help this important nonprofit fulfill its mission.
Make the Holidays Brighter for Local Native Children
Attendees are encouraged to donate a present for SWAIA’s annual holiday gift drive. SWAIA is partnering with the Santa Fe Public Schools Native American Student Services, supporting students from pre-k through twelfth grade, and is requesting new toys and games. Please wrap gifts and label the appropriate age (and suggested gender, if applicable) for each item. A designated SWAIA staff member will receive donations on both Saturday and Sunday during market hours.
